News And Notes: | One of the top overall prospects in Pennsylvania…………….As a freshman QB on a 12-2 4A team he was 146/230 passing for 3,037 yards (63.5%), 46 TDs and 5 INTs, and he had 23 carries for -23 yards………..Key freshman to watch for a state power (QB)………..Pro-style QB. Elite arm strength, mobile in the pocket, good footwork, and a very heady player who is effective in his reads. Huge frosh season. P5 talent……..“The upside is … he has a very, very strong arm,” Bishop McDevitt coach Jeff Weachter said of Saunders. “You know, it’s an elite arm. I’ve had some guys with great arm strength, and he is close now, but by the time he is done at McDevitt, I think he’ll have the strongest arm I’ll ever coach. The other thing that is impressive about him is how he processes things with pre-snap reads and understanding pass concepts,” he added. “Does he need to get better? Sure. But he already processes things like a high school junior or senior.”…………..“He’s very humble,” Bishop McDevitt coach Jeff Weachter said. “He’s taken it all in stride.”……………….He is the son of Baltimore Ravens strength and conditioning coach Steve Saunders……………As a freshman he threw 7 TDs i a win over Milton Hershey…..Very impressive at June 2021 Michigan camp (fist to offer) |
